International Union of Crystallography

The ACA is a Regional Associate of the International Union of Crystallography. The International Union of Crystallography (IUCr) is a global scientific organization dedicated to the advancement of crystallography in all its aspects, including structural science, diffraction methods, and materials research. Founded in 1947, the IUCr fosters international collaboration, publishes scientific journals, organizes conferences, and supports educational initiatives to promote the study and application of crystallography. It also plays a key role in standardizing crystallographic data and developing methodologies that benefit disciplines such as chemistry, physics, biology, and materials science.

Canadian National Committee for Crystallography

The Canadian National Committee for Crystallography (CNCC) represents Canada’s crystallography community within international organizations such as the International Union of Crystallography (IUCr). It promotes collaboration, research, and education in the field of crystallography, supporting advancements in structural science across chemistry, biology, physics, and materials science. The CNCC also facilitates communication among Canadian crystallographers, organizes scientific events, and advocates for the importance of crystallographic research in academia and industry. Additionally, the CNCC, in partnership with the American Crystallographic Association (ACA) and the U.S. National Committee for Crystallography (USNC/Cr), is co-hosting IUCr 2026, a major international congress bringing together crystallographers from around the world. |
US National Committee for Crystallography

The U.S. National Committee for Crystallography (USNC/Cr) represents the interests of the American crystallography community and serves as the U.S. liaison to the International Union of Crystallography (IUCr). It supports research, education, and collaboration in crystallography across disciplines such as chemistry, biology, physics, and materials science. The USNC/Cr works closely with international partners, including the Canadian National Committee for Crystallography (CNCC) and the American Crystallographic Association (ACA), to advance the field and is co-hosting IUCr 2026 alongside these organizations.
