CouncilThe Council serves as the primary governing body of the American Crystallographic Association (ACA). Meeting approximately one per month, the Council establishes policies and holds ultimate responsibility for the association’s actions. Its elected members include the president, vice president, secretary, and treasurer, each serving a three-year term beginning on January 1st, along with the Canadian representative and the USND President. The Council comprises elected officers and ex-officio members. Ex-officio members include the Executive Director, appointed by the Council as a non-voting participant, and a representative from the Young Scientist Scientific Interest Group (YSIG), appointed annually by the YSIG as a voting participant. Additionally, a representative from the International Union of Crystallography (IUCr) may attend Council meetings as a non-voting participant.
